Cry of the Icemark & Naughts and Crosses

Posted by Laura on July 16, 2007

When my eldest daughter was 13 or 14, she read a book called Cry of the Icemark by Stuart Hill. She said it is one of the best books she’s ever read. It looks a bit like Lord of the Rings (but not as long!) with a heroine.

Another popular book with teens in the UK is “Noughts and Crosses” by Malorie Blackman, the first of an exciting trilogy about racism and young love, with a scifi theme.

This post was from Maxine

The title is spelled Naughts and Crosses in the US. When it was released as a trade paperback in the US the title was changed to Black and White. The sequel is called Knife Edge.
